St John’s is a beautiful setting to have your wedding, and gives you an opportunity to make your marriage vows to each other in the context of Christian worship.
The Bible says, “My dear friends, let us love one another because the source of love is God” 1 John 4:7
Christians believe strongly in marriage and we will be praying for you on your big day.
If you live in the geographical church parish (which covers Clayton and much of Clayton Heights on the north side of Highgate Road) and are marrying for the first time there is usually no problem in getting married in St John’s. Also people who are on the Electoral Roll of the church may marry here.

Weddings can be very expensive so we always give an estimate for the church fees. In 2004 a standard wedding at St. John’s costs £525, which includes the organist.
We encourage engaged couples to come to a Marriage Preparation group. This is free, is an opportunity to meet other engaged couples planning to marry at St John’s, and to invest some time in developing your forthcoming marriage relationship as well as planning your wedding day.
